Turtles are on the move and may be toting around more than just their shells 👀 Several freshwater leeches have latched on to this common snapping turtle found on the road at Cookson WMA. - May is a prime time of year to see turtles attempting to cross, so we ask drivers to only pull over and move them if they can do so safely - completely away from oncoming traffic. 

Sightings of turtles (and of their ectoparasites) can be shared on free nature sites like inaturalistorg!
