“Weather the storm”
Definition: 
(idiomatic) To reach the end of a very difficult situation without too much harm or damage.
 
If you recall the wise words spoken by Coach Herrmann at team dinner last week, you’ll understand what is meant when I say, “The storm ain’t over yet.”
 
During this seasons storm, thus far, the team has weathered it quite well. A 6-1 record indicates that very little harm has been done. In fact, it’s rather minuscule. 

However, the storm is building. 
Are you? 

Are you taking advantage of every second, every minute and every opportunity you have to prepare for the storm? Do you think you can weather the storm alone or are you fortifying those around you and linking arms as you prepare to destroy the storm together? 

Take it from Coach Herrmann, who can tell you from experience that “weathering the storm” is best approached as a team effort. He didn’t play four years of college football and captain a national championship team all alone. He didn’t win games playing for the Dallas Cowboys and Cincinnati Bengals all by himself. He excelled in knowledge, strength, leadership and skill with help from his coaching staff and team. 

As coach illustrated in his speech, the storm called life will eventually challenge us all. Yet, his teammate who developed ALS didn’t battle it alone. His equally high achieving, athletic, younger brother didn’t leave this world with out putting up a huge fight. He battled a very long and gruesome storm with loving family, former teammates and medical staff by his side. 

Remember his words of inspiration and then…

As the winds begin to blow, 

and the rain begins to fall, 

And you hear the thunder roll…

Make the decision right here, right now, to round up your brothers and ready the team.

The storms a comin’ 
The Falcons will take flight. 

And when the mighty wings of the Falcons snap in unison across the sky, the storm will know… 

IT’S. ABOUT. TO. GO. DOWN!!!!!
