Playing catch with tannerand has been so good for me and him. As a pitcher I can’t stress the importance of having a good catch play partner enough. Throwing with someone who has been where you want to be is so clutch. Not only do they have so much to offer when it comes to knowledge of the game and pitching. But also when you pay attention to their pitches, the way they make adjustments, where they throw, certain pitches, etc. you can really learn a ton just buy observation nevertheless conversation.

They take their catch play seriously, every rep has a goal.

So many think that Baseball is all about physical reps, but you can also learn just as much if not more just by simply sitting down and talking about sequencing, grips, pitch counts, pitch locations, righty and left tendencies, etc. That’s why I’m grateful for Big leaguers I’ve come across in my career like Tanner, Mike Broadway, rstanek_55 and jacobbarnes and mgrove_2 because they love talking about the game and pitching and I’ve taken a ton from those conversations we’ve had. Stuff that’s stuck with me and helped given me success in my career.

The best way to find yourself around these guys is to find a local facility that trains baseball players. More often than not you’re going to run into a guy with some good experience. Approach them, be kind, and respectful of their time. And more often than not, they would be happy to have a baseball conversation with you!
