We’re here on #NationalHammockDay to remind you that even the laziest of outdoor recreation can still cause damage to our environment. 

Don’t get us wrong; we love hammocking too, so we’ve got a list of things you can do to protect the trees you strap your ropes around: 

📏Find a tree larger than 6 inches in diameter 
🌲Choose the thickest part of the tree trunk to attach your ropes too
🪵Use the widest straps you can find - one inch or thicker
🌱Place small sticks between the tree’s bark and your straps to alleviate the pressure
