Happy 246th birthday to the American flag!...Or 248th??????

Two years before the adoption of the star-and-stripes American flag in 1777, the Grand Union Flag was used as the nation’s first flag. 

While the Grand Union Flag features the recognizable 13 stripes still on the United States flag, the upper right corner (known as the canton in flag world!) contains the British Union Jack, not stars.
