Despite their name, Great Blue Herons (Ardea herodias) are actually more gray than blue! Their light gray feathers make it easier for these tall birds to hide from their predators or prey.

#FunFact: While in flight, and sometimes at rest, this majestic wild bird holds its head in an ‘S’ curve! 🪶
