Senior Spotlight: #2 Shaun Montoya ✨

Shaun joined our program in 2022 as a sophomore transfer from UC Irvine. Over three seasons on The Mesa, he has currently started in 135 of 140 contests while batting .310 during his collegiate career. His favorite SDSU Baseball memory is being a part of TJ Fondtain’s no-hitter in 2023.

Honors include:
🏆 2023 Mountain West Regular Season Champion
🏆 2023 Second-Team All-Mountain West Selection
🏆 Mountain West Freshman of the Week (4/18/22)

Shaun will be graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with an emphasis in Communication, Criminal Justice, and International Security and Conflict Resolution. He hopes to be playing professional baseball in his post-graduate career.

Thank you Shaun for everything you’ve contributed to our program over the past three years! #GoAztecs
