Announced early this morning, Sam Altman will return to OpenAI as CEO with a new interim board in place.

For now, the board will be made up of former Salesforce CEO Bret Taylor, former US Treasury Secretary Larry Summers, and existing member Adam D'Angelo as the company determines a new board with up to nine members.

Per Bloomberg, Altman agreed not to take a board seat to help push his return across the finish line and also agreed that there be an internal investigation into his firing.
