With the EV market itself showing signs of slowing, it makes sense that Apple would abandon the project, especially with any potential vehicle still years away.⁠

As recently as last month the company had pumped the literal brakes on the future car, sharing that it wouldn't be launched until 2028 at the earliest. ⁠

There were nearly 2,000 employees tasked with research and development on the project, many of whom will be moved over to Apple's generative AI division. ⁠
