Today is #10: Team's First Appearance at the National Tournament:
.

Our first moment of the decade is the team's first appearance at the national tournament in 2011. .
.
The Bulldogs were in their fourth year as a program when they first made an appearance at the big dance.
.
.
They came into the tournament off of a loss to Oakland in the GLCHL playoffs but had posted their second-best season to date with a 29-8 record. .
.
A victory in their first game of the tournament would give the Dawgs their second 30 win season in a row under HC Dan Phelps.
.
.
Alumni and former MD1 AC Max Gavin said in an interview with Carly Costello that “At Christmas time that year, we won a bunch of games in a row and started to believe we could contend for a National Title. "Once we made our first tournament and got a taste of it, it wasn’t good enough to just be there. The goal and the expectation was to win.”

.
Since the first appearance in 2011, the Dawgs have not missed the National Tournament and have placed in the top ten in the nation 6 times since, including the team's first National Championship in 2018.
