The thejusticedept International Criminal Investigative Training Assistance Program (ICITAP) is a program that helps other countries develop their law enforcement agencies in a manner that encourages the furtherance of transparency 🔍 & human rights, using American 🇺🇸policing models as benchmarks.

From countering violent extremism to corrections to forensic sciences🧫, ICITAP connects foreign police and US law enforcement with varying expertise. 

Major Crimes Bureau/Traffic Services Detail and scvsheriff recently met with DOJ ICITAP’s group from Saudi Arabia’s 🇸🇦Special Forces for Security and Protection (SFSP). 

A multitude of topics were covered including traffic🚦 investigations, motorcycle 🏍️ and off-road policing, patrol and community relations, crime trends 📊, station jails, and much more. 

A walkthrough of the station grounds provided an opportunity for the delegates to experience a snippet into a typical day at a sheriff’s patrol station.

Captain Diez of Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station and Captain Mah of Major Crimes Bureau graciously shared 🤝their expertise and that of their personnel.
