Try this transition idea with a friend! ⬇️ Captured on the new SonyAlpha FE 16-25mm F2.8 G ultra-wide zoom lens with my Sony Alpha 7CR. I love how versatile, compact and lightweight this setup is for my travel adventures, delivering constant F2.8 aperture and minimized focus breathing without compromising exceptional image quality.

📸 Designed with portability in mind, the 16-25mm F2.8 G full-frame E-mount lens can capture landscapes, portraits, architecture, video or selfie-style vlogging for any kind of creator! #SponsoredBySony

🎥 Created in collaboration with TiffPenguin on our recent road trip to see the colorful California wildflowers!

✨ TO MAKE THIS EASY MATCH-CUT EFFECT, FOLLOW THESE 6 TIPS:

1️⃣ Use a tripod set at a consistent height and have your subject stand at the same distance away from the camera in each location. Measure w/ string or by walking toe-to-heal 8 steps like I did.

2️⃣ Frame your subject in the center using grid lines as markers to match their vertical and horizontal position in every scene.

3️⃣ Make sure to adjust and lock manual focus so that your model stays sharp at all times.

4️⃣ With subject standing still, record video (4K at 30 FPS) of a friend walking directly in front of the camera from each direction, completely covering the frame. Repeat at 5-8 unique scenes and get creative by changing outfits/poses.

5️⃣ Use AfterEffects (or your editing software of choice) to layer, position and scale your clips so that the subject is exactly the same size (use guidelines to help) throughout all locations. Organize your footage so that the walking direction alternates. Overlap the frames where foreground subject is visible on top of the next scene.

6️⃣ Add a mask (adjust frame by frame) to carefully track their back as they cross the frame, creating a wipe transition that reveals the clip layered beneath. Adjust the timing of each scene so that the segments are equal length.

HAVE FUN! 🌼🌸🪻🌺🌻
