It’s been a horrific start to #NationalRoadSafetyWeek with the current lives lost at 119, compared to 88 this time last year. 
 
On Friday 12 May a 76-year-old Collingwood woman was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries after she was struck by a truck in Preston. She later died in hospital. 
 
On Monday 15th May a man has been taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries after he was struck by a car when trying to cross the road in Rowville. 
 
Last night two people died in a fatal collision in Caulfield where two cars collided forcing one to roll. 
 
As winter is rolling around the corner, poor light, slippery roads and fatigue can make driving dangerous - making it especially important you remember to:

🚗 Maintain a safe distance to the vehicle in front. 
🚗 Drive to conditions – that may mean reducing your speed. 
🚗 Make sure your car is roadworthy, especially your tyres.
