🚨BREAKING: greenpeace_be activists just occupied an LNG terminal that imports US gas to protest record US exports into Europe that are driving pollution and climate impacts in communities in Texas & Louisiana. #GasKills⁣

A new Greenpeace International report reveals that gas companies have profited from the shock of the Russian invasion of Ukraine to considerably increase US LNG exports to Europe, at the cost of our climate objectives and human health. #GasKills⁣

In just the past 12 months, there have been 17 shipments of #LNG from the US to Zeebrugge, Belgium coming from Texas and Louisiana⁣

The estimated lifecycle emissions from these shipments is 6.9 million tonnes CO2eq per year, equivalent to 1,500,000 gasoline cars 🤯⁣

This is in line with trends all across Europe that drive climate injustice in the US and threaten the collective health of people, wildlife, and planet Earth.⁣

We must stop this explosion of LNG exports.⁣
