For the first pick of #NoahsBookClub, I went with sgcarney’s What Doesn’t Kill Us. It is everything I’m into right now.

Since I was a kid, everyone has been obsessed with superpowers, but I don’t think anyone is flying around or will have invisibility powers anytime soon. The closest thing you can do to having your own superpowers is to go back to our basic physiology and where we started as humans. We’re not exposing ourselves to natural, environmental stresses anymore when we live in thermostat-regulated homes and covering up with clothes. The only stresses seem to be what we’re posting on social media, and as humans, we are becoming soft.

This book is about becoming more like our ancestors, experiencing dexterity, and being rugged. We can tap into our innate physiology by creating natural stresses through cold-water exposure and different breath work that can stimulate us as well. As the title implies, what doesn’t kill us makes us stronger. This book is about becoming a stronger human being. I hope you learn more ways to becoming naturally stronger by reading this book this month and I will check in to hear your favorite parts. #LetsRead 🍎⚡
