Katie Kudla '24 traveled twice in June as part of her #PCresearch with Joseph Ribaudo, Ph.D., assistant professor of physics.

Earlier in the month, Kudla presented a poster at the 240th meeting of the American Astronomical Society (aas_office) in Pasadena, Calif., about her research project.

The physics major and dance minor is observing galaxies with the Robert C. Byrd Green Bank telescope in West Virginia to reconstruct the baryonic Tully-Fisher relation, or the relationship between the baryonic mass — the combined stellar and gas mass of a galaxy — and rotational velocity for galaxies in our local universe.

Then, Kudla just finished up a research week at the Green Bank observatory (greenbankobservatory) on June 25.
