I first heard this statement spoken sometime around 2013 by one of my good friends who has since played 10 years in the NFL. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Back then, I didn’t think too much of it. He was always one to come with the catchy, cliche phrases that would either inspire, or annoy you, but I did know that this statement was a part of his core philosophy, a philosophy that helped him to get to where he is now, still being employed by the National Football League 10 years later while the vast majority of his draft class counterparts have hung up the cleats.⁣⁣

Fast forward & now “Hungry Dogs Run Faster” is brought up on every single recruiting call (including my two today) in our GSA team meetings, and reverberates in my brain on a consistent basis. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
The meaning of the phrase is quite simple: a dog that has eaten won’t run nearly as fast to its next meal as the dog who hasn’t. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
In the NFL agency space, and life in general, there are two groups people: 1.) those who have had their share, who are content with where they are, those who are satisfied, & 2.) those who are hungry. Those who are eagerly awaiting their next opportunity, seeking out more for their plate, & looking to strike when the moment comes.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
GSA is in fact, a hungry dog. Grateful, but unsatisfied with our success & accomplishments thus far, looking for a bigger plate, looking to provide more value, eager for more opportunity & more competition. ⁣⁣

My encouragement to anyone out there reading this is to take a deeper look at yourself, providing an honest self-assessment, & asking yourself “am I hungry, or am I satisfied? Am I willing to hunt, or would I rather sit here on the couch?” ⁣
