I could listen to Hank talk shop all day. Building on his point on staying on his feet there, here’s some other points to consider on this goal:

• Left handed shot, outside and slightly below the dot: Short side and five hole are the only real shots
• While a flash screen, the player goes from right to left in a tight area; the shooting lane is still limited, so going down lets the shooter have a look/option. Plus, dropping into the RVH really eliminates any chance of having a sight line on the puck with a flash screen.
• Weak side defensive coverage is strong.

it is important to remember that an RVH technique is not a save, it is a starting point. If you commit to it, when the shooter has some space from the net, you have to be prepared to shift and get a shoulder or your mask on the shot. A combination of working on your game reads, feeling out how you are most effective executing in a situation during practices, and reviewing game clips like this will ensure your progression and development.
