#TakeActionTuesday: Tomorrow marks 100 days until the #ParisOlympic Games and we can’t wait to cheer on these athletes as they compete on the world stage! As we celebrate the upcoming Games, we cannot help but recognize all that Title IX provides to women not just in the United States but around the world. According to our research report ‘Women in the 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games,’ “while American women continue to dominate team sport competition in the Olympic Games, in large measure due to the impact of Title IX, other nations are benefitting from Title IX with many of their [athletes] attending American colleges, leading their teams to success, most notably Canada winning gold in women’s soccer and Japan in softball.” With the access to sport through educational programming that #TitleIX provides, international women student-athletes benefit from this landmark law and allows them to continue their careers at the collegiate level and by extension at the elite level. We cannot wait to see all the women take the world stage in nearly 100 days! #TheEquityProject
