Nikki Gee, MSN, PHN, CNL, OCN, wanted to become a nurse early in life to serve and take care of others. Her meaningful contributions to City of Hope Orange County have helped shape a nursing team that puts patients and their families first.
 
𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐝𝐢𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐚 𝐧𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞?
In high school I wanted to become a nurse to serve and take care of people but didn’t have the confidence to pursue the craft. It wasn’t until my mother was diagnosed and passed with lung cancer that gave me the courage to follow my heart in becoming a nurse. I serve for my mother, grandmothers, aunts, cousin and dear ones that have all been touched by cancer. 
 
𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐚𝐝𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐝𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐲𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐛𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 𝐧𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞?
Nursing, especially oncology nursing, cannot be solely about earnings. If you place your heart in service and earnestly strive to be the most compassionate and professionally equipped nurse, all those other things may follow. This field is about making the lives of everyone around us better, for patients but also for our craft, colleagues and leadership. 
 
𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐝𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐞𝐧𝐣𝐨𝐲 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐭 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐇𝐨𝐩𝐞 𝐎𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐲?
In earnest sincerity, it can be shared that I’ve never worked with a better team or department leadership. We profess and foster a sense of family and compassion toward one another. Our team lives the Florence Nightingale oath, "I will be a faithful assistant to the doctors and dedicate my life to the welfare of the people entrusted to my care."
