There are pros and cons when social media popularizes places. As a pro, it helps bring business and foot traffic to local businesses; but as a con, it destroys comfort and privacy for locals. This specific Lawson location was one of the most crowded places I’ve ever traveled to in my life. I was shocked at just how many people were there — I even asked the worker if it’s like this everyday. He told me for as long as he has been working there (6 months), that it’s busy from 8am - 7pm.

Yes, capturing moments is important when you’re traveling — it’s what allows you to remember memories. But when it becomes impossible for locals to go about their everyday lives, it defeats the beauty of destinations 🫤
