Heading back out into the world, vaccine card in hand? We've got a few suggestions on how to hit the road responsibly:

Spend your money locally whenever you can: Something as simple as buying breakfast from a family-owned diner helps put money back in the hands of real families instead of giving it to a corporate high-rise half a world away.

Come with curiosity, leave nothing behind: We're all about hitting up the local hotspots and wandering into neighborhoods outside of traditional tourist areas, but don't forget that this is where people live — not just another stamp on your passport. Try anything and everything you've never seen before, but no one wants to wake up to food wrappers and discarded maps on their front step in the morning.

Come in with a blank slate: When you come to a new city or town with a solid idea of what their culture or lifestyle may be, you might miss out on what it actually is. Take a moment to really observe life around you without judgment. Allow room for authentic experiences — even if they don't fit your notion of what "authentic" would mean when you showed up.
