Shrugging away those emotions because your partner has additional burdens is only doing yourself a harm — it’s ok, even important, to acknowledge your emotions so that you can work through them, not set them aside. ⁠

Just because someone may be feeling more pain than you, or feeling pain differently than you, doesn’t mean your pain doesn’t matter. ⁠
