dallascowboys game day, frame by frame. Been a couple of weeks, but we’re back 😤. Kinda like last game, the pregame focus was on detail and emotion. Filmed with the blackmagicnewsofficial #6KP and dzofilm #VESPID T2.1 Cine Primes, specifically the #90mm macro, to help enhance those characteristics. This is probably game 3 or 4 for me with these lenses, and outside of their incredible character and clarity, one of my favorite characteristics has been the rainbow flare, which just adds another dimension to the image 🙌🏼

I think one of the most important things to note when shooting at this level, is that you’re trying to be as hidden and minimally invasive as possible - out of respect for the players, the coaches, and the rest of the staff trying to put the team in the best position to be focused and win. Having said that, if a player does recognize the camera and decides to pose, we’ll try to capture that moment as best we can (without being a distraction) and then move on to the next shot. A lot of our access and proximity with players and coaches, especially on the field, is built on mutual trust and respect 🤝

“𝙒𝙃𝘼𝙏 𝘿𝙊 𝙔’𝘼𝙇𝙇 𝘽𝙍𝙄𝙉𝙂 𝙊𝙉 𝙏𝙃𝙀 𝙁𝙄𝙀𝙇𝘿?”
Definitely depends on what stage of game day we’re at, but for the most part, we try to find a spot on field (somewhere on the sideline, away from the TV carts and other camera ops) for us to stash our Pelican cases, filled with extra batteries, cards, laptops, lenses, etc. That way it’s easier for us to swap gear and go, rather than running all the way to wherever the media room is located. So, outside of the cameras we’re lugging around, we typically just have our media vests on and walk around as light as possible (cell phones, lens cloth, media credential, filters, etc.). Throughout the day though, we might grab a lens pouch to sling around and swap out if needed. Actually, one of the most popular lenses we use throughout pregame is the sigmaphoto 24-105mm f/4.
