dallascowboys game day, frame by frame. For context, a lot of the pregame focus this game was on detail and emotion. For the most part, we’re always thinking about capturing that kind of stuff pregame on most weeks, but I tried using our new dzofilm #VESPID T2.1 Cine Primes, specifically the #90mm macro, to help enhance those characteristics 🔬

“𝙒𝙃𝘼𝙏’𝙎 𝙏𝙃𝙀 𝘽𝙀𝙎𝙏 𝙇𝙀𝙉𝙎 𝙏𝙊 𝙐𝙎𝙀 𝙊𝙉 𝙂𝘼𝙈𝙀𝘿𝘼𝙔𝙎?”
It’s all kind of personal preference at the end of the day. I try and look at lenses, camera bodies, filters, etc., as just tools for the project I’m working on 🛠️ For a good part of the season, I was using the venuslaowa #nanomorphs because I was really enjoying the aspect ratio, image, and overall resolving capabilities of the lenses going into post. Since then, I’ve really enjoyed shooting on these VESPIDS because I’m still getting a ton of the same character of the nanormorphs, but without having to desqueeze. On top of that I kind of get 2️⃣ looks out of a single lens depending on what aperture I’m shooting at. If I’m around f/2.1 - f/4 then I get a ton of character, rainbow flares, and crazy bokeh, but then when I start shooting at like f5.6 - f/16, I’m getting a super clinical and razor sharp image across the entire frame. It’s been really nice having that versatility with one lens. As far as in-game, I’m typically on a canonusa CN-E 70-200mm, which isn’t the best lens but covers 90% of what I need during the game.

“𝙒𝙃𝘼𝙏 𝙄𝙎𝙊 𝘼𝙍𝙀 𝙔𝙊𝙐 𝙎𝙃𝙊𝙊𝙏𝙄𝙉𝙂 𝘼𝙏?”
For the most part, I’m always trying to shoot at whatever the base ISO is for the camera I’m using. For the blackmagicnewsofficial #6KPro , I’m usually filming at an ISO of 400 in really bright environments (outside or indoors on a sunny day), and 3200 in really dark environments (like in the tunnels or during a night game) since the camera has Dual Native ISOs at those amounts. For the #c70, I’m usually filming in Canon C-Log 3 at an ISO of 800 in really bright environments and no more than 6400 in really dark environments.
