The UNF Alumni Association recognizes a graduating senior each semester for outstanding service to the University and community through volunteerism. This year, Armani Brunson was selected as the recipient of the Senior Service Award for the Spring 2024 graduating class.

Armani Brunson is a first-gen college student graduating from COEHS with a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education and a Psychology minor. She received a full scholarship as an Urban Education Scholar and consistently made the Dean’s List throughout her academic journey. She is also a recipient of the 2024 Osprey Community Engagement Medallion for her volunteerism in the greater Jacksonville community.

As a member of UNFEnvoys, Brunson served as VP of Recruitment, planning and executing events that engaged the student body to recruit new members. She spread an influence of positivity across numerous on-campus organizations as President of unfakas, President of UNFNAACP, 2nd VP for unf_nphc and Ambassador roles for both UNFCOEHS & UNFGreek.

Brunson showed initiative by hosting several community service projects for student participation. She organized an education cleanup effort at the unfogiergardens. She led her sorority and other Greek Life members in hosting a food drive benefiting UNFLendAWing. She spent many hours volunteering at local organizations such as WolfsonChildren, RMHCJacksonville, ClaraWhiteMission, CRMJax and Hubbard_House.

During the Summer of 2022, Brunson served as a First-Year Experience Mentor and was recognized as UofNorthFlorida Orientation Leader of the Year. She also volunteered with UNFBlackAlumni to provide campus tours for high school students from Duval County and was awarded the Notable Undergraduate Award.

This Fall, Brunson will begin her graduate studies at FloridaStateUniversity in pursuit of a Master of Science in Human Development and Family Sciences as she aspires to become a Child Life Specialist.
