A lot of people tend to think of the new football stadium that’s been in discussion as the only development project in Downtown Jax that’s worth talking about, but there are SO many other project on the opposite side of downtown that I wanted to make sure you’re aware of & that I’ve been loving! 😍

We’re homing in on a few in the Brooklyn area of downtown, which is the neighborhood you’re in once you cross the overpass from Jefferson to Riverside Ave. (by the Fresh Market). 

The most noticeable change that most people who commute throughout that area have been seeing is the 1 Riverside (Whole Foods) development (by the Acosta bridge). But if you go just a few streets over you can also catch all the places you see in this video; 

* Unity Plaza - public park with central fountain adjacent to the 220 Riverside apartments & Mexican restaurant, Añejo Cocina 

* Brooklyn Park - the colorful basketball mural (finished in 2023) on the corner of Jackson & Spruce | 1201 Jackson St

* The Artist Walk - 3-block public space / skatepark and part of the Emerald Trail.  Located directly under the Fuller Warren Bridge on the corner of Park St & Peninsular (or diagonal from Riverside Park). Completion date is TBD

* Model Mile - area of the Emerald Trail by the Prime Osborn that will be officially open within a few weeks. The Emerald Trail is a project by Groundwork Jax & when finished, will create a 30-mile network of walkable / bike-able trails that will connect Downtown to 14 historic neighborhoods, 18 schools, 2 colleges & nearly 30 parks. 

We’ll keep you posted once they announce the official opening dates for The Artis Walk and Model Mile - but in the meantime, enjoy this weather we’re getting and explore downtown!
