## Caption

The Pete Dye Golf Course is as wild and wonderful as West Virginia gets. The 275-plus acres that Pete Dye Golf Course stretches over was originally a 1,200-acre property that was un-reclaimed mine land. It took Dye 16 years to complete this course, opening in 1994. Throughout the course, there is history from the days that it was a coal mine. At the entry way there is a coal car which sets the tone for the rest of the course. Probably the most notable and unique part of the course is from the 6th green to the 7th tee there is a 100-yard walk through a mine tunnel, golfers get to feel the cold, dreariness of what was once a coal mine. The Pete Dye Golf Course is on ranked number 11 of Pete Dye's top 12 courses.
