id.nyc is a free ID card for all New Yorkers, from all backgrounds

With IDNYC, you can get free memberships to 30+ cultural institutions (+ other perks!) 

All NYC residents ages 10 and up can apply for a NYCID. Your immigration status does not matter. This ID can be used as photo identification, a public library card, to prove identity for employment and health benefits, to access your immunization records, and more. 

You can make an appointment online and visit in person for the appointment. You must bring forms of identification that show you are a NYC resident. See IDNYC website for full details. 

Here are some of the places you can get free 1 year memberships to. You just go in person to each individual place once you have the card and apply. Note: read about specific instructions on the ID NYC website.
