Jamaica's Jamelia Young emerged victorious in the Girls U17 Shot Put event with a throw of 14.25m at the 51st Carifta Games held at the Kirani James Stadium in St. George’s, Grenada. Her teammate, Jessica Thompson, secured the eighth position with a throw of 10.26m.

Trinidad and Tobago’s Peyton Winter claimed second place with a throw of 14.21m, while Terrell McCoy of the Bahamas secured third place with a throw of 14.11m.
