After years of serving as a Lance Corporal in the HM Armed Forces, Ash Walker decided to live the civilian way of life and joined the team at mahindraracing. But just as he began to get a taste his new lifestyle, he realised the transition was not going to be an easy one – at least in the beginning. 
As Ash settled into the job, he observed that most of the army values he had learnt over the years could be applied to his current work. For starters, the army veteran believes in self-discipline, punctuality and team work. After all, he is the Quartermaster at Mahindra Racing and his every move is responsible for the team’s success. Although, it was initially an uphill climb for Ash. 
With no background in engineering, every day was a challenge. Instead of the army life he was originally used to, he now had to get familiar with engineering jargons. But just like most of Mahindra Racing’s achievements, he too caught up to speed with it. More often than not, he always had someone to fall back upon in case of difficulty and within no time, he was well aware of the drill. Today, he is proud to be a part of the team that put together the M5Electro – their latest Generation 2 Formula E car. 
Yet, Ash feels there’s still a lot for him to learn. So while he has his heart set on the win for Mahindra Racing with their new Formula E car in the new season, he is also looking forward to graduating with a Motorsport Engineer Degree. With determination that of an army veteran, Ash is sure to accomplish his goals.
