## Caption

Vintage design books provide an endless source of inspiration and this entry hall designed by Keith Irvine and Thomas Fleming has been a favorite since I first came across it as a teenager.  Featured in the 1970 edition of House and Garden’s Complete Guide to Interior Decoration, I just realized the adjoining living room was included a few chapters later.  I only wish I could lay eyes on the people who lived here and imagine they were as colorful, elegant and understated as the house they inhabited.
