Why do two colors, put one next to the other, sing?  Can one really explain this?  No. ~ Pablo Picasso 
I just read about the 60-30-10 design rule where there is a dominate, secondary, and accent color.  In this space we used a rich plum on the walls, millwork and sofa and introduced green on the club chairs and in the back of the bookshelves.  We considered yellow for the “pop” of color but then were drawn to our clients’ budding collection of majolica.  The splash of turquoise acts like a spice enhancing the flavor of the other colors in one delicious mix.
