With the passing of Christopher Plummer I am reminded of the impact The Sound of Music had on me. Specifically: the house.  There were so many films from my childhood that imbued in me a love of grandeur and sparked my desire to create such splendid spaces.  From little orphan Annie’s turn of luck at Daddy Warbuck’s palatial estate to the elegant townhouse and enviable California ranch in the Parent Trap- the only thing coming between me and my dream home was, apparently, my happily married parents.  And let’s not forget the jaw dropping treehouse in the astonishingly un-PC Swiss Family Robinson.  What were your favorite family-friendly film houses? #alltheworldsastage
