I saw this post on Tik Tok and it made me chuckle. 🤭  It’s been almost 10 years since I placed my bid for Stingette captain,  and 8 years since I graduated from ‘Bama State. To this day people are still pitching a fit about me not being picked as captain, and fans ofc have their other favs that they wanted to see in that “number one spot.” 🤷🏾‍♀️

My opinion: 🗣️ What God had/has for me is for me!

To my HBCU gurls 👂🏾, regardless of if you’re the captain, ace, tail… in the front, back, left, right, or fetching capes… you are valued where you are!! Some little girl is admiring you no matter where you stand in those stands! No title makes you a leader… YOU MAKE YOU A LEADER! Don’t over dramatize your experience being worried about politics. 🙊 One day you’ll look up and those years will fly by! Focus on what’s important: school, dance, mentorship, and your WHY! Let your “why” be your motivation, not the position. Stay humble and DANCE.
