Well. It’s been a few days so it’s time to move on from a less than proud moment for me.  
  
I was impatient early in the race after a restart and got into the marbles while trying to make a pass around the outside. I left the paved surface and normally would have been fine but rain the day prior made the grass like ice and I put the car into the tire barriers.   The majority of the damage was cosmetic but the impact cracked the vulnerable side radiator and ended our race. 
  
It might sound dramatic but this is honestly one of the most devastating things to happen to me in a while. I pride myself on being calculated in the car for our consistency to carry us in the overall scheme of this insanely competitive championship. I’m disappointed for myself, but also that I let the motorsports.in.action guys, spencerpigot, mclarenauto, and jgwentworth down.   
  
The only thing I can do now is reflect on the mistake and work my tail off. It’s an uphill climb but as far as I see it, we’re still in the hunt.   
  
Side note: as if that wasn’t bad enough, my stepdad Frank had a stroke Saturday morning and I was told shortly after getting out of the car. Later in the day, my 2 Labs got into heart and diabetic medication while I was visiting Frank in the hospital so I spent the entire night in the emergency animal hospital. The dogs are ok now, but Frank has a long road to recovery so please send some positive energy his way.
