🪶The Victoria Crowned Pigeon is the largest species of pigeon in the world; this species was named in honor of the British monarch, Queen Victoria.
🪶They forage on the forest floor eating fallen fruit, seeds, and even snails, but they will roost and nest 10-30 feet high up in the trees.
🪶A family of Victoria Crowned Pigeons are easy to find in the National Aviary’s Tropical Rainforest habitat, just look for the distinctive head plumage!
