It is time to celebrate the #RUClassOf2022 as they transition to their next chapter! Over the next few weeks, we will share stories from our soon-to-be graduates about how their time at Rutgers has shaped them into who they are today 📚

Meet Madeline Dwamena, a graduating senior at @rutgersartsandsciences majoring in Biological Sciences and minoring in Digital Communication, Information, & Media.

“During my four years at Rutgers, I have experienced immense growth. When I first stepped onto campus as a freshman, I held on desperately to the mentality of being perfect in everything that I did. As a pre-dental student juggling several extracurriculars, I did everything in my power to take control of every aspect of my life. This approach inevitably resulted in stress, burnout, and feelings of self-doubt. I slowly learned that true value and purpose don’t come from perfection- it comes from making mistakes and learning from them. I believe that it was a part of God’s plan for me to attend Rutgers and recognize my true potential through the difficult times. The person I am today didn’t come from “perfection”- it came from understanding that I have purpose and power.

With the plethora of resources available at Rutgers, I have been able to also explore each dimension of my versatile interests- from dentistry to fashion to even dance! I am thankful that Rutgers is a part of my story because it has helped me gain the wisdom and confidence to dream big and achieve all that I can in one lifetime.

I am graduating from Rutgers University as an accomplished woman of God who cannot and will not be shaken by any obstacle or trial. I have learned to rely on my faith rather than my own strength. With my transformed perspective on life, I plan to continue to lead, inspire, and make a remarkable difference in the world through every experience I encounter. I will be a name to remember. Thank you, Rutgers.”

Check back each week as we feature #RUClassOf2022 graduates.
