At the core of UBC Recreation is our vibrant student community – student staff, volunteers, athletes, instructors, and leaders.

Each graduation season, we bid farewell to a group of remarkable individuals from our community as they embark on new journeys. This year, we’re celebrating by highlighting three graduates from the UBC Aquatic Centre! 🌊

First in this series, 𝗠𝗘𝗘𝗧 𝗔𝗟𝗜𝗖𝗘!
• Lifeguard/Swim Instructor/Supervisor, UBC Aquatic Centre – 4 years
• Degree: Bachelor of Arts in Visual Arts, Bachelor of Arts in French Language, Literature, and Culture

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗮𝗱𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗨𝗕𝗖 𝗯𝘂𝗰𝗸𝗲𝘁 𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁?
The UBC polar bear dip on the last day of first semester classes.

𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝗨𝗕𝗖 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗺𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝗮𝗻 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝗼𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲?
I’ve made so many lifelong friendships and memories through working for UBC Recreation. Without UBC Recreation, I don’t think I would feel as strongly connected to the UBC community.
