Lacrosse has grown as a popular sport in many universities and has increased its media attention to a wider audience. As more people are being introduced to the sport, youth programs within Lacrosse have been expanded and made more accessible, leading to increased youth participation and aspirations in playing in college. 

Lacrosse will return as an Olympic sport at the Olympic Games in 2028.
