SANTA CLARITA 1-11-21: A retired LASD deputy shot a man with a gun that rammed a gate into a gated community off Sand Canyon Road. Officials responded to a traffic incident that was later upgraded to an assault with a deadly weapon after multiple callers stated they heard shots being fired. When the retired deputy approached the man in the vehicle, a confrontation ensued, the suspect produced a firearm, and a shooting occurred. The suspect was struck twice in the chest.  The condition of the suspect is unknown at this time. All deputies are accounted for. scvsheriff investigating alongside LASD Homicide Bureau.
