The California Public Employment Relations Board, or PERB, issued a complaint but denied a court order against UC academic workers union UAW 4811 on Thursday.

The PERB complaint, issued in response to the university’s unfair labor practice charge against the union, alleges that the UAW’s strike notice violated the contractual no-strike clause due to both the purpose of the strikes and the lack of adequate notice to the university.

PERB denied the court order also requested by the UC, noting in a Thursday filing that the UC “has not established that injunctive relief is ‘just and proper’” in accordance to PERB standards. The board left the request open to additional evidence.
