Meet this week’s #FeatureFriday Claudia Antonika!⚪️🔴⁠
Claudia recently graduated in May and majored in Microbiology. She has been working with our Career Advisors with interview prep, graduate school applications, personal statement reviews, and career fair and networking prep. ⁠

Claudia’s favorite part of her job/grad school searching experience was working with a supportive career advisor—Letty—at UNL career services. She says “I really enjoyed the nervousness I felt while practicing for grad school and job interview in front of Letty. It took a lot of practice to finally beat my anxiety and become more confident, but the process was memorable for me.”⁠

Claudia says, “Increase your network (even during a pandemic)! Whether you are a recent grad or new student, keep open your connection at any time. Don’t wait until you are a senior! Personally, I think networking with professors and advisors is beneficial for applying to grad school because they can connect me with other professors in a different University, give recommendations, or help me with applications and interviews.”⁠

Claudia will be pursuing a doctorate program in microbiology at Indiana University-Bloomington. Her ultimate career goal as a scientist is to create new innovations to help as many people as I can and to teach new generations about how fascinating science is!
