## Caption

On May 7th, 1945, the Allied Forces formally accepted Germany's unconditional surrender, officially ending World War II. The next day, on May 8th, celebrations broke out across Europe to commemorate the victory. Pictured here is the Canadian Women's Army Corps celebrating Victory in Europe (VE) Day in London in May, 1945. 

Today, we continue to commemorate VE Day and remember the lives lost during the fight for peace in Europe.
