Wouldn’t You Like To Know Wednesday.......what Gabby Hajjar ‘10 is up to......
“My mom loves to tell the story about when Tracey first called to talk to her about recruiting me to play at BU. As the story goes, she was told that if she let me leave Ohio and go to BU, I’d never want to go back. So far, this prophecy has been accurate. Becoming a BUFHA was the best decision of my life and set me in motion for the rest of my life.

How so, you might ask??...well for one, I met my best friends, which seems to be a common theme here on these Wouldn’t You Like to Know Wednesday’s. Near or far, we know we’ve got each other’s backs.

Second, I met my husband, Tunde. Tunde was a BU basketball player and devout engineering student. We met one fateful night, while practicing moderation of course, on the dance floor of JTree (for those who remember). Here we are, twelve years later practicing much more moderation now that we have two little ones. Ade is our goofy, happy, and loving two year old. Amal, who will be turning one in a couple of weeks is proud, strong and attached to my hip.

Since I graduated in 2010, I’ve left Boston twice. Once to move back to Ohio to work with my family in their Lebanese restaurants. While there I also helped coach Ann Arbor Huron to their first state tournament victory in 8 years. Quickly realizing that I needed to be back in Boston (Tracey knew...)I went back to school to get my Masters in French Education. Thus, I became a double terrier. The second time I left, I moved to France to teach English to French high school students before returning to Boston to being my teaching career.

And I as the prophecy goes, here I am back in Boston (Somerville to be exact) living my best covid life. Before Amal was born, I taught French to middle schoolers in the Cambridge Public School District. I also coached along side former BUFHA Kim Kos Southall at Newton Country day for three seasons. Teaching and coaching are my calling, but for now, I’m focusing on family. We spend our days taking about what our next meal will be, who has to poop, and cleaning up an endless mess. BUFHA love and pride ❤️” #bufhapride #bualumni #buathletics
