Wouldn’t You Like To Know Wednesday ... what Michele Barnard ‘97 is up to.

”BUFHA-
It has been a fast 23 years since I walked Boston University as a student-athlete for the last time.  I am forever proud to be a Terrier and more specifically a BUFHA.  My time at BU will always be four of the best years of my life, and simply one of the best decisions I ever made.  The women I played with during those years turned out not to just be teammates, but family. They define loyalty, friendship, and love. We have stayed connected individually, and as a group, and I know we always will.

I now live in Chicago with my three boys, Jack(14), Logan (13), and Caleb (12), and our dog Bauer.  I work in the technology industry for Origami Risk helping my clients build and customize databases to manage their organization’s risk.

Each of my kids has also set their sights on success in athletics.  Jack has been a dedicated soccer player since day one and continues to excel in the sport. After successfully competing in a variety of sports, Logan ultimately found his passion on the basketball court and had an extremely successful season last year with all the teams he was part of.

Once Caleb started hockey there was no looking back. He continues to set high goals for himself and achieve them.  It brings back great joy watching as they grow as athletes and individuals.  The dedication, work ethic, and determination they demonstrate in sports will serve them well in all areas of life.  As they begin approaching college age, I quietly hope they will find a school that gives them the education, memories, and family that I was lucky to walk away with from BU.

During these unprecedented times, I feel for the current team as they are forced to navigate all of these challenges at the height of their athletic careers. Stay safe and healthy.  We all look forward to BUFHA returning to competition as soon as possible.  #BUFHAPride” #bualumni
