BUFHA is grateful for Ally Alfonso (Fonzi) ‘13. “I'm a medical student and research fellow in NYC. Though medical students across the country have been removed from on-site clinical duties to conserve protective equipment and maintain safe learning environments, I am proud to work alongside colleagues who launched remote volunteer efforts to support our teammates on the front lines. With an influx of COVID testing in NYC, we were granted the opportunity to call patients with test results, counsel on necessary precautions, and most importantly, take the time to help them cope with the realistic fears that accompany a positive test result. If there's anything I learned as a BUFHA, it is that as a team "together everyone achieves more." I think everyone can frame their current work in this way. Send positive affirmations to your friends and family, remain informed and educate others. While you adjust to staying home, remember to be kind to yourself. I express gratitude to all on the front lines helping us overcome this unprecedented challenge. Stay safe and be well! #bufhastrong
