In tonight's Class 7A first round game, Royal Palm Beach (5-5) will be going on the road against defending 7A state champion St. Thomas Aquinas (9-1). It is essentially a rematch of last year's 7A regional final, which STA won in a 52-7 blowout.

Led by 2016 CB Davon Brown (left), 2016 ATH Josh Carr (center) and 2016 WR Marlon Eugene (right), the Wildcats realize they must play at least a near-perfect game in order to pull off a monumental upset win over the Raiders. "We're back for the second time," said Eugene, who has 9 touchdown catches this season. "We know what it's going to take. No plays off, no turnovers. We have a quarterback that bought into our team and can get the job done." Carr, who may also log some time as a defensive back in tonight's playoff game, said it's the best time to savor the opportunity at hand. "We have to live in the moment," he said. It's now or never for us." Brown, who is Royal Palm Beach's most accomplished player this season, said he will do whatever it takes to extend his team's season at least another week. "I don't want my high school football career to end tonight," he said. "I don't need to be in the spotlight. I want to block and let someone else score. I want us to play hard like dogs on defense and offense. We have to let them know we're not going anywhere. No mistakes and we have a chance." The kickoff time is set for 7:30 p.m. in Fort Lauderdale.
