I had the privilege to watch David Torrence race many times. It always seemed like he would burst out of nowhere the last 300m with this unreal kick to leave the field behind. 
As he leaves us all behind now,  it's a humbling reminder that we are not invincible. No matter how much this sport makes us feel that way. We always think we are going to get another chance at that PR. Another season to really prove what we're capable of doing.

I've read a lot of homages now for David. I never knew him personally but all of them have expressed his amazing personality. Not some time on a clock or accomplishment. He will be truly remembered for his loving character and the great person he was towards everyone. 
David was a light in this sport that cannot be replaced. #RIPDT
