We learn that Carroll took an interest in photography and imagery when he was in the army and how he was interested in getting by without working for some gigantic corporation– he wasn’t interested in being a cog in a machine! Carroll tells us how he funded his projects, about his relationship with Francis Ford Coppola, and the development and production of the film Black Stallion. Carroll likes to operate the camera himself, prefers to rely on the visuals and not language in his films, and always tries to make movies with a world of their own and a point of view.
